Volunteering
Ignoring everything that I was taught in the Navy - Never volunteer
for anything!! - I've taken the plunge and become the duty coordinator
for the division. This will mean picking up the paperwork for the
duties and doing my best with the manning of these. If I can't get any
volunteers then I'll have the unpleasant task of ringing the
organisers and letting them know we can't make it. But so far, OK it
is only a week, I've managed to get cover. The 12th of September could
be interesting as we have three duties slated for the day. One will
probably have to lose out. Also two overlapping duties require an
ambulance so we may have to call on Shaftesbury to help out at the
Speedway.
Training is still slow. I've got a Patient Handling course and some
radio updates to do in September. These are the final two pre reqs for
the Ambulance Aid in November. For October I have a driving assessment
to allow me to drive the ambulance. Heres hoping I pass all these.
