Amazing Benefits

Its funny really. There are many unseen benefits to be being a member
of the emergency services. Luckily for me over the past few weeks I
have had two major events that have been incredible and I'm sure that
as a normal member of Joe Public I would probably have had no chance
of getting access to these events. Firstly whilst attending on a job
the patient needed to be flown off Canford Heath. Consider that this
was at about 10 in the night. Pitch dark. The police helicopter landed
took the patient and me from the Heath to Whitecliff. How many people
get to fly at low level over Poole in the dark? Fantastic.

Then this weekend I had the chance to undertake some familiarisation
training with the RNLI. We all met at the lifeboat station by Poole
bridge for a cuppa, then we were taken out of the harbour on the All
Weather Boat. Once outside the harbour we were transferred one by one
on to the Inshore Boat for a quick spin with a bit of wake jumping.
Excellent photos were taken. I got an opportunity to take the helm of
the AWB and had a fantastic time all round.
