Have just finished a weekend block of three night shifts working out of Wimborne. Had a good weekend with the usual mix of fall non injury calls, the rash of Male Assaulted ?Head Injury after midnight on Saturday night and two calls which stood out. First was an arrest, call came through as Unable to Rouse, ?Choking which rang alarm bells. We got there and an ECP was on scene already. The patient was a no hoper from the start really though we gave him a good shot with CPR and I managed to get an LMA in which is good for the portfolio. It was quite moving to hear the response of someone who has been married for over 50 years to the news of the spouse's death. Second was an RTC given as a single car at Stag Gate on the A31, which considering that the last one I'm aware of at that location was a fatal got the juices flowing. We arrived on scene to find the car parked neatly in the hedge, half way up a telegraph pole. The driver was out and walking around, we gave him a good check over and could find no reason for him to go in to hospital, which was good because he wasn't interested in going in anyway. Good weekend all in all. Week off on annual leave now, next shift is a 10->10 out of Christchurch a week Wednesday.
