3 Years

Three years ago I was sat at home on 'gardening leave' having just
been made redundant. The 7/7 bombings and the 21/7 attempts had made
an impact on me as a I sat at home watching News 24. I realized that I
couldn't really go back to working in an office fixing computers. It
was now or never for me to make the leap and change careers. With the
Ambulance service being the ambulance service it would take until
April of 2006 but that just meant that I spent nearly 6 months working
for the Borough of Poole and hating every minute of it. This just
reaffirmed my desire to work in emergency medicine. Even allowing for
the weekend nights and the drunken yobs it still is the best job in
the world.

LINC Srtudy

Have now signed on as a station co-ordinator for the LINC study -
Lucas in Cardiac arrest. This means that we will randomly selecting
patients for whether or not they will receive Lucas algorithm or
manual CPR. This runs for the next two years and should all be very
interesting. Best bit is that as the junior technician on station I
have to train everyone e4lse up and say whether or not they are
competent on the Lucas.
