Speedway

Speedway again last night. The promised rain held off till after the start so we managed to limp through to heat 9 (I think) before it was cancelled. So that will mean a rerun. Received my prelearning for the Tech course today. Seems that the driving will be the first part of the course so I'm going to brush up on my Highway Code and Road Signs between now and then.

Point to Point and Competitions

Over the weekend we had a point to point duty and the County
Competitions were held. The point to point ran relatively smoothly
apart from awful weather and the fact that the Transit bogged down.
Twice. The Commisioner who was there as the Nurse asked if I would
accept the Superintendents job full time. After at least a nano second
of thought I said yes.
At the competitions I entered the Adult Care again. It is getting more
and more difficult to tell the difference between Care and FirstAid
now. Howver we managed to win again and so I'm off to Regional
Competitions now.

Man Flu

Have managed to pick up a bad case of man flu. Temperature of 40
celsius, unable to swallow. Ibuprofen and paracetamol are kind of
keeping it under control. Have had two telephone consultations with a
GP in the last 18 hours. Isn't it great that they can tell exactly
what is wrong with me from a distance of two miles? Apparently I have
a community virus. Sounds neat.

Formal Offer

Today received my formal offer from DorAmb. This is a good thing on
two counts. Firstly it means that I really am going to start with
DorAmb on the 24th of April. Secondly it means that I don't have any
nasty diseases like Hep C. This is a Good Thing. Roll on the 24th!!

Tomorrow I'm covering a duty at the Lighthouse which will involve
loads of schoolchildren attending concerts through the day. In the
evening I'm booked on to a PTS Shift with DorAmb. Updates over the
weekend.
